Occupational Health & Medical Surveillance

Proactive medical surveillance to protect your employees, support compliance and promote healthier workplaces.

Why Medical Surveillance Matters

Periodic medical surveillance helps ensure the health and wellbeing of employees exposed to workplace hazards, while supporting legal compliance and the effectiveness of workplace controls.

Assess Health Status

Assess the health status of employees exposed to workplace hazards and monitor the effectiveness of workplace controls.

Establish Reference Points

Establish reference points for the medical information of employees, including baseline data on entry, job transfer and exit when employees leave.

Detect Issues Early

Detect early signs of work-related health issues, ensure appropriate medical treatment and determine whether workers are fit to work in a specific workplace.

Employees may be certified as Fit, Fit with Restrictions or Unfit, depending on the outcome of the assessment.

Dedicated Occupational Health Services

At Good Prognosis Medical, we have a dedicated occupational health wing with experienced staff and facilities to undertake all legally required, as well as additional value-add, assessments of employees in relation to their occupational exposures.

Our occupational health assessments are not simply about meeting legal requirements. They are designed to support the early detection of potential health issues, benefiting both employees and employers.

Through effective medical surveillance, we help businesses understand the health risks within their workforce and make informed decisions about employee fitness and workplace health.

Our Medical Surveillance Process

Our Medical Surveillance process is highly efficient, minimising disruption to the workplace while ensuring employees receive the appropriate assessments.

Pre-Employment

Assess an employee's fitness for the specific role and establish important baseline medical information before they enter the workplace.

Periodic Surveillance

Regular medical surveillance to monitor employee health in relation to their occupational risk exposure and identify potential health concerns at an early stage.

Job Transfer

Assess an employee's fitness when they move into a different role, workplace or exposure environment.

Exit Assessments

Final assessments provide an appropriate record of an employee's health status when they leave the workplace.

Seamless Planning & Booking

Our planning and booking process is designed to make occupational health assessments as efficient as possible, reducing disruption for both employees and employers.

Comprehensive Employee Assessments

Each employee is fully evaluated through appropriate questionnaires and examinations. The type and scope of assessment is informed by the employee’s Occupational Risk Exposure Profile (OREP) and the Annexure 3 Template as provided for in the Construction Regulations.

Assessments may include evaluation of:

Where applicable, restrictions can be clearly identified to assist the employer in managing the employee’s workplace requirements.

Direct communication with the employer can be provided regarding the outcome of the assessment, provided the employee has given the required consent.
